Nitrous Lighting

Initially founded as Pc Nitrous in 2013 by Sergei Grishin while still studying at University of Maryland: Baltimore County. At this time, LED lighting for automotive applications was just starting to kick off. There were no compact LED lights on the market that were brighter than High-Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs. Sergei challenged that and created the first aftermarket LED light that was significantly smaller than other market leaders while still being brighter than HID. Not only that, but the shape was ovular, which could be fit inconspicuously on cars with and without clear cutouts and mounting points for lighting.

Car enthusiasts at this time cared a lot about color temperature. Some wanted the blue tint of 6000K color temperature, some wanted to match their halogen lights with 3000K. Others, just wanted the be modern and inconspicuous and chose 4500K.

Version 1 lights were introduced with 3 different connectors. This allowed you to use your existing wiring without installing a wiring harness or adapter. It was truly plug-and-plug when it came to electronics.

First Customer Install - Stealthy and Tasteful

Off-road vehicles always look cool with a lot of extra light pods and bars, but cars rarely look that flattering with big lights, with the exception of rally cars. The goal was to create a light that could flow with the style of any car while looking tasteful.

July 2015 - Sergei Grishin Demonstrating Nitrous Lighting Lights

After making connections with the enthusiast car scene and attending car shows to demonstrate the lights, Sergei was introduced to local stage rally fans. It was soon after then that Nitrous Lighting sponsored their first rally teams. Consisting of drivers: Derek James, Charli Tameris, and Jeff Carl.

Sergei became seriously interested in rallying and got his start co-driving for Derek James at Empire State Performance Rally in 2015. James used the Nitrous Lighting Motorsports Lightbar shortly after its release.
